Students of Jarvis Christian College Can Access Online College Courses Before Obtaining The High School Diploma

High School Students who are in the service part of Jarvis Christian College are very eager to take-up the online college courses before obtaining the graduation on high school diploma. Hudson Strategic Group is a design service and organization planning business managing non-profit communities and organizations.

It has selected the Jarvis College along with other four historically black colleges to take part in the association that allows the college students to access the online college courses before attaining a high school graduation. The program organized by the Hudson Strategic Group was an educational initiation that offered several opportunities for the under-served students. The main intention of the program is to assist students to succeed in their post-secondary education. Mathematics, engineering and science are the major subjects that were in the focus.


The vice president of the Jarvis College William Smialek was excited as the students of the college got an opportunity to take up the online courses before completing the high-school graduation. Florida Memorial University, shorter college, Clark Atlanta University are the institutions where the students can enrol to the several online courses. It allows students to apply for the online courses that are not available on the Jarvis Christian College. High school students will be allowed to continue the online college education along with a high school education. The programme was organized to achieve the goals like increasing the rate of high school graduation, enhancing the minority student participation, minimizing the achievement gap and easy access to post-secondary education.

School Prayer Groups Were Banned At Victoria State Schools


Usually, in the Christian schools the bible study and lunchtime prayers will be conducted by the teachers of the school or any volunteers. But, the state schools at Victoria have banned the lunchtime prayers based on the law established by the new education policy. It has created anger on Christian as they feel it is a sign of the violating freedom and rights of human beings.

The policy was come into the practise on July 2014. The ban was implementing as part of the provocative religious instruction requirements. According to the new policy, the religious instructions can be ceased in the schools that have insufficient resources. It means that it is not mandatory to Christian schools to conduct if it has only limited number of teachers. On the other hand, the policy has made it clear that the parent, visitors and staffs will not be allowed to conduct prayers. It has become a major drawback for primary as well as secondary schools.


Anyone providing regional textbooks like Koran and bibles are also prohibited. Mustard, the Christian school ministry will organize lunchtime prayers by volunteers at the nine state schools. Tim Clare, the director of Mustard, said that he get disappointed due to the prayer banning system introduced by the new education policy. Religion and freedom of speech are the fundamental rights of human beings. However, the spokesman of the Victorian education system has said that students are free to carry their religion materials, and they have rights to form a religious society by themselves. But, the teachers or parents will not be allowed to run the club.
